MIRI: A woman broke her leg when she crashed into the rear of a car that had stopped by the roadside due to engine failure on Sunday night.

She was driving home from the city when the incident occurred along the road heading to Vista Perdana housing area in Permyjaya. Her seven-year old son was not injured in the 8.45pm accident.

According to sources, the car was parked by the roadside after it broke down.
“It was dark and drizzling … my son and I were heading back home from the city when we crashed into the rear of the vehicle,” the young mother in her 20’s told The Borneo Post.

An ambulance from Miri Hospital dashed to the scene upon receiving a call on the accident.

The owner of the vehicle parked by the roadside said he and his wife were sitting inside the vehicle when it stalled due to engine failure.

“We had switched on the emergency light when we suddenly heard a loud ‘bang’ behind,” said the man who did not wish to be named. Both of them got out from the car to check and were shocked to see that a car had rammed their stationary vehicle.
