A lorry driver died and another was injured in a two-lorry crash in Jalan Batu 10 Lekir, Sitiawan.
A one-tonne lorry, driven by a man in his 30s, collided into a two-tonne lorry coming from the opposite direction, killing the driver of the smaller vehicle on the spot.
The driver of the two-tonne lorry managed to survive with light injuries.
Fire and Rescue Department arrived at the scene 12 minutes after receiving the emergency call at 12.27pm today.
A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department said: “The firemen had to use specialised equipment, including a cable winch to retrieve the body of the deceased trapped in the wreckage.”
The operation took more than 30 minutes.
