KUANTAN, Sept 8 (Bernama) -- A man and his wife were killed, while their daughter was badly injured, after the Hyundai Getz car they were travelling in collided with an express bus at Km 59 of Jalan Lipis-Merapoh near Kuala Lipis Monday.
Kuala Lipis police chief DSP Abdul Razak Hassan said Muhamad Zulfahmi Awang, 24, and his wife, Siti Zulaika Mohd Taha, 21, died on the spot.
Their two-year-old daughter, Nur Fatin Irdina, who sustained severe head and bodily injuries, was taken to Lipis Hospital for treatment.
"They were heading to Raub from Terengganu when the mishap occurred at 1.45 am.
"When they arrived at the scene, the car skidded into the opposite lane before colliding with an express bus which was heading to Kelantan from Kuala Lumpur," he told Bernama when contacted here Monday.
The said the remains of the couple from Jerteh, Terengganu, were taken to the same hospital for post mortem.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, he added.
