Woman And Grandchild Killed After Car Hits Them

A 59-YEAR-OLD woman and her granddaughter were flung some 7m after they were struck by a car while trying to cross the road in Jalan Sulaman, near Kampung Tambalang Bolong in Tuaran, reported Harian Metro.
Rozilah Wati Mitang and her granddaughter, Sekolah Kebangsaan Tambalang Year Three pupil Nursyahidatul Mohd Saiful, were killed on the spot.
During the incident, Nursyahida­tul’s father was waiting in a car across the road to send her to school, which was some 10km away from Rozilah’s house.
Tuaran OCPD Deputy Supt Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek said the 24-year-old driver of the car had tried to stop when she saw them dashing across the road but failed.
