Better to Focus on The Best We Can Do In Life

23 Mar 2015

I hope other elders did not miss reading it.

Many elders should stop grumbling that other people must care for them. Remember, growing old is mandatory: growing up is optional. We make a living with what we get. We make a life with what we give. As they say, in youth we learn, in age we understand. And years mellow and soften us

The inevitable trials of life teach us patience and broaden our ability to love and care. So, each new year should be a gift from God that brings us new oppurtunities to learn and grow further.

Rather than change the illusion of youth, we should try to change who or what we are. We should concentrate on the best we can do at every age and stage of life. Here are some ways:

BE well-groomed always;

AS our bodies change, we change our clothings and hair styles. So take care of your body;

ADOPT a sensible exercise programme and keep to good nutritions; warm and witty;

DON’T let yourself get old. No one can escape ageing but we don’t  have to get “old”. In our attitude and outlook. We can be a vibrant, zestful and young at heart;

PURSUE new interest and learns new skills;

BE involved in serving others, whatever your age;

REMEMBER, when you stop learning, you stop living. And as long as God gives us life, we can  continue to grow  and learn; and,

BY maintaining the right attitude and a sense of humour, we can be useful at every stage of life.
