SETIU: A housewife was killed in a car accident at Km43.5 Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kota Baru near Kampung Sungai Tong here.
During the 5.30pm incident yesterday, Che Minah Che Soh, 52, was killed on the spot after she was flung out of the car.
Setiu District Police Chief DSP Ab Rahman Raja Mohamad said the vehicle driven by her husband Ab Manaf Husin, 57, was believed to have gone out of control and rammed into an utility pole.
“It then went into the opposite lane. The couple were heading to Kuala Terengganu from Kota Baru when it skidded at a corner,” he said.
“Che Minah, who was seated on the front passenger seat, was flung out of the car.
“She sustained serious bodily injuries and died at the spot but Ab Manaf was unhurt,” he said when contacted.
The victim’s body was sent to the Setiu Hospital for post-mortem.
